I’m actually writing on behalf of my dad, Arlend Sammons, who called today to tell me one of his old racing friends passed away and asked me to write on the web site if I could. He said Sam always dominated Shady Bowl in Columbus, and they used to all be friends when my dad owned a junkyard that sponsored Sam. He just wanted to say he was a really fun guy and he’ll always remember great times racing with him. He remembers his brother Dennis and all the good times they all used to have. Sounds like Sam left a mark on my dad’s life of great memories and a good friend. He even remembers what his race-car looked like. We’re sorry for your loss.
