Scott Lanter

Elmer was truly one of a kind. He and I met working at Rittal, I then asked him to come to CTIO because when the Air Force asked me about testing powder coatings, I told them that this would not be possible without hiring Elmer Baldwin. While Elmer’s and my employment together at Rittal was not long, in that short time that I had worked with him there, his ethics, his knowledge, but most importantly, his kindness and friendship was why I wanted him to come work for UD. It wasn’t very long at all with UD that I believe the entire community knew Elmer because it never mattered where I would go with him that someone would through their hands up and holler, “Hay Elmer”.
Elmer and I have shared our life stories over the 15 years that I have known him. He was a close friend whom I trusted with very personal issues. Elmer, I thank you for being there for me and while I will never forget you and your way of always making things better, I will truly miss you.
For Elmer’s family, as you all know, Elmer was someone who was always there for everyone he became to know, and I am sure that the Lord will use his abilities to touch even more people than Elmer could have ever met in a life time.
God Bless
