Alice Oyer, 93 of Mechanicsburg, passed away, Monday, February 14, 2011 in the Forest Glen Health Campus, Springfield, Ohio.
She was born July 7, 1917 in Rutland, Ohio the daughter of Clarence & Bell (Nelson) Trainer.
Alice enjoyed puzzles, word games, gardening, sewing and was a 4-H advisor. Most of all she was passionate at being a mom. She was a kind, generous, loving person; who was easy to talk to and cared for everyone. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, nieces & nephews. They will all sadly miss the time they spent with her.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie Fannin of Mechanicsburg and Cindy (Bill) Lawson of Clarence Center, NY, her son, Fred (Nell) Oyer of London, OH; her grandchildren, Tom Oyer of London, OH, Nancy (Kenneth) Anderson of Mesa, AZ, Doug (Karen) Fannin of Fairborn, Ronald Fannin of Fairborn, Kim (Davis) Douthit of Huber Heights and Dr. Courtney (Dave) Johnson of Marysville; her great grandchildren, Lucas (Beth) Fannin of Toledo, Lindsey Douthit of Huber Heights, Tony Fannin of FL, Kyle Anderson of Mesa, AZ, John (Patty) Christianson of Yellow Springs, Erika (Greg) Updyke and their daughter, Madelein of Cincinnati and Andy Christianson of Washington; her sister, Grace Ritchie of Urbana and her brother-in-law, William P. Westfall of Mechanicsburg; numerous nieces and nephews of several generations as well as a host of friends.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer E. Oyer, her brothers and sisters; Clyde (Irene) and (Maxine) Trainer, Willis (Ruth) Trainer, Harold (Donna) Trainer, Pauline (Ronald) Phillips, Joan (Clarence) Brown, Betty (John) Neimeyer, Garnet Westfall and Jack Ritchie.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 in the funeral home with Pastor Linden Good officiating.
