Allan C. Henrick, 85, of Urbana, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 in McAuley Center, Urbana.

He was born October 13, 1931 in Phoneton, Ohio.

Allan was a graduate of Bethel High School and served his country in Ohio’s Air National Guard. He was a lifelong livestock and grain farmer who enjoyed nature – especially hunting, fishing, and camping. Allan attended the Sulpher Grove United Methodist Church and the Terre Haute United Methodist Church. He enjoyed planning and teaching others how to garden, and was also an avid reader who enjoyed drawing and carving. Allan was a former member of the Miami County Farm Bureau, Miami County Pork Producers, Bethel Township Board of Zoning Appeals, as well as various church committees.

He is survived by his wife, with whom he recently celebrated a 50th Wedding Anniversary, Annabelle (Campbell) Henrick; his daughters, Sally Henrick of Mt. Victory and Amy Henrick of Urbana; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Allan is preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Clara (Dinsmore) Henrick; and his sister, Jane (Henrick) Cassidy.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in the Terre Haute UMC, 5938 St. Rt. 55, Urbana, Ohio 43078 with Rev. Barbara Jean Pope officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM in Bethel Cemetery, Tipp City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sulpher Grove UMC, 7505 Taylorsville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424, or to Terre Haute UMC, 5899 High St., Urbana, Ohio 43078.

Annabelle, Amy, and Sally,
We were saddened to hear of Alan’s eath but you know he is no longer suffering. We are never ready to say good bye to our loved ones but it is a comfort to know that he’s at home with the Lord. May memories of happy times help you through tese sad one.
