Atlee E. Carter
Atlee, 87 years of Mechanicsburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior.
Atlee was born July 28, 1933, son of Ernest and Opal (Conn) Carter. He served in the U.S. Army during Korean war. He was a dedicated Christian, member of the Mechanicsburg Free Will Baptist Church, an ordained Deacon, Sunday school superintendent, and teacher. Currently he was attending Beatty Free Will Baptist Church. He was a farmer and worked construction (Carter Bros.)
Atlee married Loray (Roberts) on April 5th, 1958. They had 3 children; Robin (Joel) McDargh, Sandy Jude, Tim Carter. Grandchildren; Thad (Kayla), Ryan (Stephanie), Jacob (Olivia), Daniel (Haley), Adrienne (Jerry), Joel (Gracie), James and Jared. Great grandchildren; Haidyn, Liam, Zayne, Case, Camden, Carson, Cooper, Dawson, Tucker, Miriah, Wyatt, and Westin.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Opal (Conn) Carter; his loving wife of 59 plus years, Loray; sisters Marie, Kathleen, and Paula; Brothers; Addie, Raymond, and infant brother; daughter-in-law Lori Carter; son-in-law Eugene Jude.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2021 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2021 in the funeral home with Pastor Steve Wallace officiating. Graveside service will be held
1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in the Lake view Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, KY.
