Betty Jean Smith, 89, of Cable, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
Betty was born February 20, 1932 in Paintsville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Hammond) Brugh. She was a member of the Kennard Church of the Nazarene where she served on the church board. Betty enjoyed working in her flower beds, sitting on her swing and watching the birds but most of all, spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her children, Leonard Smith, Karen (Herb) Yoder, Deborah (Tom) Rodgers; her grandchildren, Brad (Tammy) Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers, Jason (April) Smith and Dustin (Aubree) Smith; great grandson, Bo Smith; siblings, William Brugh, Delma (Robert) Bell and Barb Marquis; sister-in-law, JoAnn Brugh as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Myron Smith; siblings, Raymond, Walter, Lacy and Robert Brugh, Lucy Smith, Mary Cummings, and Patsy Hoffer as well as daughter-in-law, Becky Smith.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 in the funeral home with Pastor Vicki Case officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
