Betty I. (West) Leamman, 83 of Urbana passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Huber Heights, Ohio.
She was born February 18, 1932 in Casstown, Ohio, the daughter of John and Ludemia (Brandenburg) West.
Betty attended school and was a cheerleader at Lost Creek School in Casstown. She worked as a security guard at Navistar for 20 years. She loved to work and instilled a hard work ethic in all of her children. Betty was known for being talkative and outgoing, you always knew when she was around. Her passion in life was spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Roger) Atkinson of St. Paris, Debbie Meurer of Springfield, Pam Roberts of Springfield; sons, Charles Roberts of North Port, Florida, Stan (Dee) Roberts of Urbana, Tim (Sue) Roberts of Troy; 12 grandchildren and 27 grandchildren; brother, Bob (Maxine) West; sisters, Gloria Jean Grant and Joanne Zerkle; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Charles D. Roberts, 2nd husband, Donald M. Leamman; sons, Dennis Joe, Terry Victor; brothers, Arthur West and Paul West; sisters, Jane Runkle and Margaret Thomas.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Urbana.

Our prayers are with all of you at this time. I am so glad that I was able to reconnect with Aunt Irene this past summer. I am the youngest child of Margaret(sister) and Bob Thomas.

To the kids of my aunt Irene, So sorry to hear about your mother. I’m the oldest daughter of your aunt Jane Runkle. Wish I could be there but I live in Illinois and have a dr. app.Thur. My sister Becky sent me a message and told me. I have often thought of aunt Irere and how she was. I know my mom often thought of her.Feel free to email me if you want to.
