Betty Rodgers, 79, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in her residence surrounded by her family.


She was born May 1, 1935 in Johnson County, KY, the daughter of Joel and Mae Oma (Vanhoose) Estep.
She enjoyed gardening, as well as collecting dolls and antiques. Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


She is survived by her daughter, Maela Kay (Randall) Butz of Mechanicsburg; her son, Jeffery Brian (Jo Robin) Rodgers of South Lebanon, OH; grandchildren, Cari (Shawn) Leet, Leah Castle, Lydia (Mitch) Beatty; great grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Elizabeth Evilsizor, Rachel Leet, Mason Beatty, Leela Beatty; great-great grandson, Brett Grooms II; beloved brother, Benny Estep; nephews, Kevin Estep; special friends, Mary Lou Smith and Madeline Riley; as well as numerous cousins and relatives.


Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Rodgers; and her brother, Billy Estep.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg,
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Mercy Hospice, 444 W. Harding Rd., Springfield, OH 45504.

So sorry to hear about Betty she was a wonderful lady.I had a nice talk with on the phone a few weeks ago catching up on things we probably talked a hour and a half . I will always remember that special conversation. She will be missed .Our deepest condolences to the family.I still have a doll I bought at one of her sales I will treasure it. I know that she loved collecting them.
