June 4, 1946 - April 15, 2016
Betty Lou Semler, 69, of Urbana passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 in her residence.
She was born June 4, 1946 in Rutland, Ohio, the daughter of Scott and Lucille (Ferrell) Brown.
Betty retired from Wal-Mart after more than 20 years of service. In the last few years before her retirement, she was given the opportunity to work alongside her husband where they were even able to ride in the same car to and from work. Betty was a caring, compassionate, and kind soul. As our hearts ache for the physical loss of her, we find solace in knowing that she is now with God. She is at peace. And for that, we are grateful.
Betty is survived by her husband, Kenneth L. Semler; her daughters, Cindy (George) Hess and Rachel Waddell; her sons, Don (Denise) Canter Jr. and Amos Canter; her 5 step-sons; her 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Tammy Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana with Pastor Larry Hall officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
