Elizabeth “Betty Ann” (Heath) Stockton, 95, of Urbana, Ohio passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 in Hearth & Home of Urbana.
She was born June 21, 1919 in Dayton, Ohio to Frank A. and Iva (Campbell) Heath.
Betty Ann married Richard E. Stockton in St. Paris, Ohio in 1942. She is survived by her sons, David (Theresa) Stockton of Yellow Springs, James (Patricia) Stockton of Springfield and Philip (Gail) Stockton of Nyack, New York; six grandchildren, Jennifer Reynolds of Fairborn, Rhonda (Brian) Guthrie of Yellow Springs, Craig Stockton of Urbana, Shanda (Brian) Hawkes of Yellow Springs, Richard L. (Annie) Stockton of Yellow Springs and Julia Stockton of Nyack, New York; ten great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.
She graduated from Jackson High School in 1937 and from Bliss Business College, Columbus in 1939. She was employed by Farm Bureau Insurance Company (now Nationwide Insurance) as Secretary to the Ohio State Agent from 1940 to 1944. She was a member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church, Urbana and a Sunday School teacher for several years. She worked at Mercy Memorial Hospital as a volunteer for several years and delivered mobile meals for shut-ins for many years.
Betty Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard E. Stockton, brother, George A. Heath of Dayton, OH; sister, Frances DeVinny of San Rafeal, CA and a grandson, Kelly Stockton of Yellow Springs, OH.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the First Presbyterian Church, Urbana with Rev. Kevin Horrigan officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Burial will be held at the family’s convenience in the Honey Creek Cemetery, Christiansburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church 116 W. Court St., Urbana, Ohio 43078 in lieu of flowers.
