Billie Jo Hoffman, 72, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 in her home.
She was born on August 14, 1944 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Daniel and Grace (Urton) Lytle.
Billie Jo was a graduate of Fairbanks High School. She worked for more than 10 years as a tax preparer for H&R Block and also kept books for small businesses in the area. Billie Jo was an avid reader. She also loved playing piano and singing. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed watching her grandchildren perform in sports and drama. She was their biggest fan. Billie Jo was a Christian who shared God’s love with others through her kindness, generosity and joyous laugh. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Brad) Fontaine of Kettering; her son, Jon (Rachel) Hoffman of Lancaster; her grandchildren, Alec, Justin, Daniel, Caroline, Gracie, Rebecca, and Benjamin; and her several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joel L. Hoffman; and her sisters, Violet Hiles, Alice Haddix and Mary F. Thompson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in the SKILLMAN, McDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in the funeral home with Pastor Greg Voight officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
