Billy Joe Moore, 81 of West Liberty, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, March 14, 2015 in his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born December 11, 1933 in Louisa, KY the son of the late Thomas and Rosa (Hensley) Moore. Billy Joe served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a mechanic for over 40 years. He retired from Stapleton Chrysler Plymouth in 1998, and had previously been employed by Brandeberry Motors and Trenor Motors. He was a Christian and a member of the Union Chapel Community Church of West Liberty. He sang Southern gospel music and played the pedal steel guitar. He loved spending time with family and friends. His favorite hobbies were fishing, golf and do it yourself projects.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Collier) Moore, his children, Sheryl (Michael) Woodruff, Nancy (Duffy) Moseley, William (Gayle) Moore and Alan (Bobbie) Moore, his grandchildren, Brandy (Bob) Lanier, Michael (Chrissy) Moore, Steven (Leah) Woodruff, Deanna (John) Sikora, Kelly (Jeremy) Willetts, Jonni Tomlin, Adam Crooks and Amanda (Jason) Ramsey, 16 great grandchildren, his sister, Betty (Jim) Wyatt and numerous nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Dana Woodruff, an infant grandson, great grandson, Evan Crabtree, brothers, David, Arnold (Ruth) Moore, sister, Madaline (Jack) Blackburn, brother-in-law, Dick Foor and nephew, Paul Foor.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2015 in the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Sarver officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Kingscreek Cemetery, Kingscreek. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Pearce-Kerns Post #120.

So sorry to learn of Billie Joe’s passing but know he is safely home with the Savior he sang about for so many years. We always loved hearing him play that steel guitar of his. Praying for Gods comfort for all of you.
