Bonita (Dobbins) Wood, 57 of Urbana, peacefully went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 7, 2012 in her home. She was born October 7, 1954 in Urbana, Ohio and attended Triad High School. She received a culinary degree from Jackson Training Institution. She attended Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church.
Bonita enjoyed playing cards with her friends, watching movies, going to flea markets, taking care of flowers, art, collecting glass ware and poetry. She loved people; she enjoyed helping & visiting at the Caring Kitchen, and attending family get-togethers. Bonita loved her pets, Sissy, Mona and Suzie. There was a special place in her heart for her neighbors and they will sadly miss her especially, Lisa Loffing (who helped look after her during her illnesses).
She is survived by her step-father, Jim ”Grandpa” Burden, her brothers, Jaimey (Rachel) Burden, Eugene (Carolyn) Burden and Bruce Dobbins; sisters, Vicky (Frank) Sibole, Darlene Byrd Jackson, Sherrie Logsdon (Rich Boutell), Christina Wells, Vicki (Gray) Jessup, Patty (Doug) Burden and Kathy (Tom) Galluzzo; her companion of 19 years, Larry Moore; 25 nieces & nephews, several great nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dan Henry Dobbins and Helen Louise (Bush) Dobbins Burden, son, Brian Scott Goucher, brothers, Ronnie Dale Burden, Baby Jimmy Burden, Danny Dobbins and Gregg Dobbins; niece, Nikki Souders; nephew, J. Scott Byrd; brother in-laws, Gary A. Byrd, Steve Jackson and Ed Wells.
Funeral services to Celebrate Bonita’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012 in the Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Russell Street officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Jenkins Chapel Cemetery, Cable. Memorial contributions may be sent to Caring Kitchen, 300 Miami St., Urbana, OH 43078. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.vernonfh.com. Services are entrusted to FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, North Lewisburg.
