Carl “Dink” E. Mitchell 80, of Mechanicsburg, passed away, Friday, August 28, 2009 in his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born May 19, 1929 in Springfield, the son of the late Robert C. and Josephine (Ward) Mitchell.
Carl was a 1947 graduate of Catawba High School. He was the owner and operator for 42 years of the Mitchell & Son Body Shop in Mechanicsburg. He loved working on puzzles. Carl was a member of the Mechanicsburg Christian Fellowship Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana (Glenn) Yearout of Mechanicsburg, his son, Randy (Wendy) Mitchell of Mechanicsburg, his grandsons, A.J. (Nikki) Mitchell, Neil (Michelle) Mitchell, Alan Trainer and Jon (Heather) Trainer, his great grandchildren, Haeleigh Ray Donohoe, Lexi Sue Mitchell, Chelsey Trainer and Shawni Trainer, special friend, Judy Lockwood of Springfield; as well as numerous nieces, nephews & friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lila Jean (Edwards) Mitchell, a brother, Walter Mitchell and his great grandson, Wesley.
Following Carl’s wishes his body will be cremated.
Graveside services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 in Maple Grove Cemetery Mechanicsburg, OH. Following the burial, a memorial service will be held at his residence, 9754 Wren Rd., Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
