Carl E. “Teet” Spain, 86, of North Lewisburg, passed away, Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in The Gables at Green Pasture, Marysville.
He was born October 31, 1927 in North Lewisburg the son of Levi H. and Della O. (Gregg) Spain.
Carl served his country in the United States Army as a cook. He retired from Ohio Grain Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching baseball, watching college softball and the OSU Football. Most of all Carl will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his son, Rev. Carl (Susan) Spain Jr., son-in-law, Jim Larsen both of N. Lewisburg; grandchildren, Nicki (Don) Boitnott, Todd (Wendy) Spain, Marlena (Shawn) Crabtree, Nancy (Dave) Borror, Jamie Larsen, Daniel (Kelli) Larsen and Jeffrey Larsen, his great grandchildren, Andrea, Kaylynn, Jarrin, Tommy and Nyx, sisters, Verna Morgan and Doris Knox as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen M. (McKinley) Spain, his daughter, Linda M. Larsen, his sisters, Myrtle Isaac and Juanitta Keeran and his brother, Jake Spain.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 in the Freshwater, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the funeral home with the Dr. Tony Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg, Ohio.
