Carmen Taylor, 89, of Urbana, passed away, Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in Mercy McAuley Center. She was born June 23, 1926 in Urbana, Ohio, the daughter of the late Merrill S. and Amy (Duncan) Taylor.
Carmen was a 1944 graduate of Salem High School. In her professional career, she worked for insurance companies in Urbana, Cincinnati, and Columbus. Carmen loved working in the yard, walking and being neighborly. She also loved playing the piano.
She is survived by her sister, Donna V. Earnhart of Urbana, and her nephew and nieces, William M. Taylor, Belinda Waldren, and Nancy Bailey, all of Urbana, and Myna Johnson of Columbus, and several great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Eloise, Pauline and Jeannette; and her brothers, William, Fred, and Stanley. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Mercy McAuley Center and Community Mercy Hospice for the constant and excellent care of Carmen.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana, with Rev. Mimi Ault officiating.
