Carolyn K. “Chickie” Cox 68, of North Lewisburg, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, October 24, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 23, 1945 in North Lewisburg, Ohio.
Carolyn loved the Lord. She and her husband attended the Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church and she enjoyed being with her family and friends. Carolyn also loved to sing, cook and always put others before herself.
She survived by her husband of 47 years, Lester Cox; daughter, Leslie Ann (Dan) Butler; sisters, Louise, Ruth, Linda (Bobby) Jumper and Judy; brother, Roger; sisters-in-law, Aurelia and Sue; and lots of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Lillie Thornhill; sister, Ginny Wynn; brothers, Jim, Tom, Jackie, Burrell and Larry.
The family would like to thank the staff of Springfield Regional for their kindness and compassion for Carolyn and her family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2013 in FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Russell Street officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Champaign County in memory of Rodney Adams.
