Carrol M. Coe, 91, a lifelong resident of Milford Center, passed away, Thursday, February 24, 2011 in the Memorial Hospital of Union County, Marysville, Ohio.


Carrol was born February 18, 1920 in Milford Center, Ohio and was a 1938 graduate of Allen Center High School. He then chose to serve his county in the United States Army during WWII. Carrol’s unit was deployed to Italy on the front lines. When he returned, he first went to work as a mechanic in Marysville and in 1949, he moved to the family farm on North Darby Coe Rd, Milford Center. He was a member of the Milford Center United Methodist Church, A 60 + year member of the American Legion Post 79 of Marysville and a member of the Union County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed farming, square dancing with his wife, working in the flower garden, mowing, card games, marbles, making homemade ice cream and listening to music.


He is survived by his sons, Tony (Sharon) Coe of Milford Center, David (Rainy) Coe of Loveland, CO, Jeff (Patricia) Coe of Marysville and Michael Coe of Milford Center; his grandchildren, Ron (Sherri) Coe, Nancy (Bob) Scheiderer, Andrya (Eric) Archambault, Renata (Tony) Cook and Beth (Jordan) McDonald; his great grandchildren, Travis, Megan, Madeline, Caleb, Evan, Hannah, Hayden, Jacob, Clayton, Tyler and Aubriana; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosenni (Guthrie), his parents, Chester A. and Carrie Rose (Wood) Coe and his sisters, Ruth Coe and Helen Pyers.


A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg, Ohio.
Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Union Township Cemetery Milford Center, OH with Rev. John M. Groat officiating. The Union County Honor Guard will provide military honors.
