Charles E. Lyons, 86 of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in Vancrest of Urbana.
He was born September 23, 1930 in Urbana, Ohio the son of Charles and Ruth (Nagel) Lyons.
Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army in Germany. He was owner and operator of Main News for 30 years. After the sale of the business, he was employed as circulation manager of The Urbana Daily Citizen. In 1994, he opened The House Of Cards selling sports cards and memorabilia. As our heart aches for the physical loss of him, we find solace knowing that he is now with God, is at peace, and for that, we are grateful.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Emma Lou Lyons, son Richard Lyons; grandchildren, Melanie, Billy, Darcy, Shannan, Angela and Heidi, very much loved great grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as his companion and pet, Pepper.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Lou (Bill) Butz.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2017 in the Memorial Garden of the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Scott Anderson and Pastor Charla Grieves officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service in the Narthex of the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Paws Animal Shelter, 1535 US-36, Urbana, Ohio 43078 or charity of your choice.

To all of Charlie’s family, Lou especially. I was so sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing. I will never forget Charlie trying to catch a Buick going down the street with his fishing rod attached. Many a good memory of you both. Love Dee Noland
