Charles “Dick” “Abie” R. Wilson, 82 of Urbana, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 in his home.
He was born August 24, 1927 in Clark County, the son of Charles M. and Elsie Marie (Thompson) Wilson.


Dick graduated from North Hampton High School and continued his schooling at Hobart Welding School. After 42 years of service, Dick retired from Plastic Research as a Toolmaker. At the start of his retirement he was employed with Ethel’s Flower Shop for 14 years. He was a Grimes Quarter Century Club member, a member of Harmony Lodge # 8 F. & A.M., Council and Commandry, Special Wish Foundation and a member of the First Baptist Church in Urbana.


He is survived by his loving wife Ethel (LeFever) Wilson; his daughter, Patricia Neighbors of Tuscaloosa, AL; his granddaughters, Heather Neighbors of Australia and Lauren Neighbors of Birmingham, AL; his uncle, Fred (Nadine) Thompson of West Milton, OH; his brother, Jack (Judy) Wilson of Springfield, Ohio; sister-in-laws & brother-in-laws, Alice Ziegler of Harmony, PA, Ruth & Don Powell of Wilmington, NC and John & Lois Ann LeFever of Zienople, PA and several nieces & nephews.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Marjorie Schuler and Lois Wilson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2010 in the Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010 funeral home with Pastor Brian Wonn officiating. Burial will follow in Kingscreek Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers: Pat Flannigan, Carl Giffen, Tim McDaniel, Tom McDaniel, Tom O’Brien and Jon Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dick’s memory to Community Mercy Hospice, 444 W. Harding Rd., Springfield, Ohio 45504.
