Corrine Lucille (Connie) Crist, 95, of Urbana passed away November 16, 2012, in the presence of family. She was born January 21, 1917 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clive Vernon and Glenna Marie (Neff) Kemp.
Connie enjoyed bowling, which is how she met her husband Norman. She loved working in her flower garden, crocheting, knitting, camping, and traveling in their motor home. She treasured spending time with her family and was fond of animals, especially her dog Pepper. Connie earned her teaching certificate from Wittenberg University and taught in Springfield for a short time. She spent nearly30 years at Urbana East Elementary, where she carried out her love for teaching children.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Norman Richard Crist; son, Gary (Sarah) Crist of Urbana; daughter, Debbie Crist of Galloway; grandchildren, Andrew (Megan) Crist, Kevin Crist, Tiffany Estes, and Derek (Katie) Estes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Richard Vernon Crist, and sisters, Maxine Moone and Vivian Kilgore.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the immediate family. There will be no calling hours. Services have been entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
