Cynthia Marie Molton, 54, of Urbana, passed away, Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born December 25, 1962 in Urbana, Ohio. Cynthia was a graduate of Urbana High School and earned her associates degree from Kaplan University.
She was previously employed as a para legal with Attorney Cathy Weithman for over 20 years and recently joined the law office of Smith, Smith, Montgomery and Chamberlain in Bellefontaine.
Cynthia was a devoted member of the Urbana Church of the Nazarene; where she was involved in the small group Bible study and singing. She enjoyed cross stitching and music.
Cynthia was most passionate and very active along with her husband and sons for many years with the Boy Scouts of America. She was a Tiger Den Leader of Pack 21 and the unit commissioner of Troop and Crew 258. In honor of Cynthia, the family request for all scouts attending to wear their uniforms.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Steven E. Molton; her sons, Samuel E. Molton (fiancee Amber McNeal) and Jacob M. Molton; her siblings, Joyce A. (Daniel) Hobbs, Betty L. (Mike) Holbrook, Debbie Y. Inskeep (Jack Ramey), Vasso A. (Tony) Brown, Kenneth L. (Carmen) Powell and Keith A. Powell (Judy Wright), Willie Powell, Duane (Misty) Powell and Steven (Lisa) Powell as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Juanita J. (Gatten) Powell and her sister, Vickie Snapp.
Cynthias final gift was participating in the Tissue Donor program through Life Line of Ohio.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in the Urbana Church of the Nazarene. Funeral service to Celebrate Cynthias life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in the church with Pastor Larry Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Vernon Funeral Home, 235 Miami St., Urbana, Ohio 43078.
