D. Wayne McInturff, 78 of Urbana, passed away, Monday, March 12, 2012 in Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus, Ohio surrounded by his family.
D. Wayne McInturff born May 16, 1933 in Rosewood, Ohio to Doris Lenore (Dill) and Lloyd D. McInturff.
Wayne was a 1951 graduate of Salem High School Kingscreek, Ohio. Self employed all his life. He was the owner of McInturff’s Meat Center wholesale/retail meat sales for 42 years, which also included McInturff’s shooting supplies. He truly enjoyed sharing stories and talking with people. He was a member of the following: Life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, life member of the Champaign Sportsman Club, 58 years member of Harmony Lodge # 8 F. & A. M., 58 years Chapter, Council and Commandery 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Antioch Shrine, and charter member of the Champaign County Shrine club. He enjoyed Trap and Skeet shooting, auto racing and was a car owner.
He is survived by his significant other Charlotte Moore; his 3 children, Tim (Lisa Jarnagin), Sally Lenore McInturff-Powers (Kevin) and Paul ”PM” (Lisa); 3 grandchildren, Chad (Angie) McInturff, Heather Arnold and Chris McInturff, 3 step grandchildren, Brian (Kristin), Matt and Jason Bailey, 4 great grandchildren, Kaleb, Alyssa, Cayden and Hannah; his sister, Gayle Petty of Kingscreek, his brother, Stephen (Deb) McInturff of Northridge, several nieces and nephews; Aunt Fritz McInturff Jones of Piqua and Randall and Gregory Moore, and his children, Stephanie and Tiffany.
He is preceded in death by the mother of his 3 children, Joyce Ann, his parents, his brother, his grandmothers, grandfathers, 5 uncles, 4 aunts and a great granddaughter, Naomi Arnold. He was a loving and caring person who will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 on Friday, March 16, 2012 in the Kingscreek Cemetery with Pastor Brian Wonn officiating. Harmony Lodge #8 F. & A.M. will perform Masonic services. Following the graveside service a gathering of family and friends will be held at the First Baptist Church on N. Main St., Urbana, Ohio.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Select Specialty Hospital for the compassionate and special care given to Wayne.
