David L. Dillion, 61 of Mechanicsburg, passed away, Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 9, 1948 in London, Ohio the son of Eldon W. & Louise (Pennel) Dillion.
David served his country in the United States Army where he was a Bronze Star recipient. He retired from Navistar after 22 years. He dearly loved camping, boating, snowmobiling, mushroom hunting and working in the yard.
David is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pamela J. (Fife) Dillion, his daughter, Amy (Donovan) Crowl of Woodstock, his grandchildren, Timmy Tull and Ceth Crowl; his brothers, Vernon Dillion of Washington Courthouse and Alan (Janet) Dillion of London, his brother-in-laws, Bobby (Peggy) Fife and Rick (Nancy) Fife both of Hillsboro, his sister-in-laws, Bonnie Schofield of Springfield and Carol (Larry) Orahood of South Vienna, as well as several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ed Dillion and a sister-in-law, Janet Dillion.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home Mechanicsburg with Pastor Jim Baldwin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Following David’s wishes his body will be cremated.
