Debra Joy (Herron) Short, 53, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009 unexpectedly in her residence. She was born on February 16, 1956 in Marysville, OH, the daughter of Otis and Martha (Knox) Herron.
She enjoyed reading books, playing and conversing with friends on the computer, and shopping. Debra especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving companion, Klif Short; daughters, Lisa Coffey, Taylor Short both of Mechanicsburg, and Angela (Darell) Hose of Hawaii; step-sons, Steve Short of Mechanicsburg and John Short of Miamisburg; grandchildren, Sierra Tooker and Darian Gray both of Mechanicsburg, and Madison and Olivia Hose of Hawaii; brothers, Jim (Mary) Herron of Mechanicsburg, Roger (Janet) Herron of Woodstock, Sam (Mary) Herron and Dennis (Shelia) Herron both of North Lewisburg; sister, Sue (Kenny) Evilsizor of Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Gale Herron of N.C., and Margaret Herron of OH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Myron, Richard, and Thomas Herron.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at SKILLMAN, MCDONALD, & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Linden Good officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
