Donald James “Don” Carmean, 87, of North Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Spring Meadows Care Center, Woodstock.
He was born Febuary 8, 1930 in Mechanicsburg, the son of John and Mabel (Hull) Carmean. He retired after many years as a farmer, prison guard, factory worker, and electrician. He loved farming, hunting, country music and watching old westerns.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Roberta (Jones) Carmean; his daughters, Molly (Kim) Tomlin, Lori (Mark) Oster, and Betsy (Bobby) Leslie; his son, Jimmy (June) Carmean; his sister, Martha (Roland) Yocom; his grandchildren, Michael Carmean, Marla (Adam) Smith, Monica (Chris) Bowsher, Donald P. Woodruff, Denton Woodruff, Nathan (Sara) Phelps, Justin Phelps, Michele (Phil) Etgen and Pete Tomlin; 16 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers in-law, Beatrice (Carl) Nauman, William (Ginger) Jones, and Richard Holland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William and Alfred Carmean; his brother-in-law, Roland Yocom; and in-laws, Robert and Thelma (Pitzer) Jones, Ruth Ann (Richard) Evelsizor, and Julia Holland; grandson, Kenneth Oster; and great-grandson, Dalton Carmean.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM on Monday, May 15, 2017 in the FRESHWATER, McDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the funeral home with Randy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
