Donald R. Hayden 88, of Urbana, passed away, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 13, 1923 in Mutual, Ohio the son of Clara (Trimmer) and Julian Hayden
Donald enjoyed farming and he retired from Champaign Nursing Home. He was a member of Harmony Lodge #8 F. & A.M., Urbana, Ohio and was a Union Township trustee for twenty years.
He is survived by his wife, Anna L. (Colvin) Hayden; his daughter Carol (Joe) Spitzer of Urbana; his grandsons Matthew S. (Melissa) Kenton of Richmond Hills, GA. and Peter J. Kenton of Urbana, his great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan and Nicolette; his twin sister, Donna Fay (Paul) Berry of Springfield, his sister in law Jeri Hayden of California; numerous nieces, nephews and friends, including special family friends, Jamie and Amy McGuffey and their children Kayla, Owen and Kaden.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Grace Leach, Lillian Reise, Dorothy Knight and Gladys Everhart, and his brothers Ralph, Jim, Alfred and Bus Hayden.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Monday December 26, 2011 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 27, 2011 in the funeral home with the Pastor Mike Stewart officiating; where the family will receive friends 1 hour prior.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mutual.
