Donald R. “Don” Suggs, 60 of Mechanicsburg, passed away, Saturday, November 19, 2016 in the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born July 31, 1956 in Loris, South Carolina the son of the late Julia Alice (Lee) and James Edward Suggs.


Don served his country in the United States Army. He recently retired from Rising Sun Express as a truck driver. He was a member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church. He enjoyed going to auctions, barbecuing, wood working, collecting hats, discussing politics and cheering for the Steelers and the Georgia Bulldogs.


He is survived by his wife, Wanda Sue Suggs; his son, William Edward Suggs; step-sons, Scott Alan Bradford and Christian Michael Bradford; his step-daughters, Cynthia Kay (John) Sabo and Cheryl Lynne Bradford; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; his brothers, Jack Arthur Suggs and Johnnie Ellis (Josie) Suggs, sister-in-laws, Opal Suggs and Katheryn Suggs, as well as 12 nieces and nephews.


Don is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers and sister, Wesley O’Brien, James Ronald, Edward McRoy and Hazel Irene Suggs.


A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Mimi Ault and Rev. Scott Bradford officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.


Memorial contributions may be made to the Mechanicsburg Library, 60 S. Main St., Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044.
