Dorothy Ann (Miller) Bostick, 88, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana.
She was born March 28, 1924 in Waterloo, Ohio, the daughter of Jacob and Martha (Shepherd) Miller.
Lawrence Bostick was the love of her life and she was married to him for 50 years. Dorothy loved a large family having 11 brothers and sisters and she had 11 children. She spent most of her life as a homemaker. She always loved working in her flower gardens, especially her Iris’s, she enjoyed watching birds and coloring. She always loved family get-togethers and going out to eat with her family whenever possible.
She is survived by her daughters, Martha Ann Akers, Ellen Jean ”Jeanne” (Mark) Strong and Kelsey Lynn Bostick; her sons, Larry Richard Bostick, Jerry Arthur (Candy) Bostick, Howard Lee (Sharon) Bostick, William Edward (Kayceal) Bostick, David Wayne Bostick, Charles ”Charlie” Ivan Bostick, Steven Bret (Crystal) Bostick and Duane (Laura) Bostick; her sisters, Bertha Walters and Janet Shoaff; her brother, James Edward (Evelyn) Miller, her sister-in-law, Carol Miller; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence R. Bostick; sisters, Grace, Mabel, Bina, Helen, Norma and infant sister, Agatha Ruth, her brothers; Gary Allen and Ivan Lee ”Bud” Miller and her son-in-law, Donald Akers.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Burial will be in the Treacles Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to the Cancer Association of Champaign County, P.O. Box 38125, Urbana, Ohio 43078.
