June 28, 1944 - April 16, 2016
Edward “Eddie” D. Ferryman, 71 of Mingo, passed away, Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the Ohio State University Medical Center.
He was born October 28, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio and was a 1964 graduate of Northeastern High School. Eddie retired after many years of service with ODOT. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Eddie had a heart for mentoring youth. For many years, he was a Rabbit 4-H advisor in Champaign County, Sunday school teacher, a sports coach and spear headed an annual fishing derby for area youth. He enjoyed fishing and collecting coins and stamps. Eddie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, and loved spending time with his family. As our hearts ache for the physical loss of him, we find solace knowing that he is now far better at home with Christ. He is at peace. And for that, we are grateful.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia M. (McGilliard) Ferryman; his daughters, Lisa (Jon) Nichols and Amy (Scott) Hamilton, his grandchildren, Clark, Mack & Clarissa; his brothers, David (Karin) Ferryman, Rob (Pat) Ferryman, Steve (Kit) Ferryman, Doug (Pam) Ferryman & Terry Ferryman, his sisters, Kay Sparks and Becky (Jack) Williams; as well as numerous nieces and nephews of several generations.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Virginia (Ballard) Ferryman, his daughter, Carla Jo Ferryman, his brothers, Timothy and Donnie, brother-in-law, Ron Sparks and sister-in-law, Cindy Ferryman.
