Elijah Dow Stickley, 21, of Urbana, Ohio passed July 5, 2018 as a result of an automobile accident. The son of Todd Kenneth and Hope Ellen Stickley, he was born July 18, 1996 along with his twin sister Moriah Faith, in Springfield, Ohio.
The strength of Eli's relationships with Jesus, family and friends encapsulates what meant most to him. Along with his parents, sister, future brother-in-law Alex Marinelli, and girlfriend Briana Cleveland, he is survived by his maternal grandparents Larry and Judy Domigan, paternal grandparents Dan and Janet Stickley, Aunts and Uncles - Daniel and Stacia Domigan, Amanda and Chad Roll, Polly and Jim Jordan, Andy and Jill Stickley and Zach and Jessica Stickley. Eli was blessed to grow up with many cousins on Nettle Creek Rd. and cherished an enormity of memories. Surviving cousins are Olivia and Hannah Roll, Rachel and Chris Salisbury, Ben and Kelly Jordan, Jessie and Jarrod Uthoff and Isaac Jordan, Elizabeth and Katherine Salisbury, Justin Stickley and J.D. Stickley, Garrett Stickley, Lydia Stickley and Isaiah Stickley and many brothers in the wrestling community.
Eli and Moriah were homeschooled by their mom and graduated from Graham High School in 2015. Growing up, Eli started wrestling in third grade and later enjoyed serving as a wrestling camp counselor, several years of 4-H, cross-fit, hunting and fishing - especially going on the cousin guys' trips to Canada, that he referred to as the "Promised Land". Eli was a stand-out member of the Graham wrestling team where he was team captain his junior and senior years, ended his high school career a four-time state placer, an Iron Man champion in 2012, and a state wrestling champion in 2014.
His most recent years were spent at the University of Wisconsin majoring in Life Science Communications with a pre-chiropractic route and a proud member of the Badger Wrestling team. Eli was a NCAA qualifier, Big Ten placer, an Academic All-American wrestler and displayed the true characteristics of a student athlete. He was heavily involved in Athletes in Action where he dedicated his time as both a student and a leader. After completing chiropractor school Eli planned on opening his own practice, Chiro-Fit, in Colorado incorporating the Four C's - chiropractic, cross-fit, coffee, and CHRIST.
Eli was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine and attended Blackhawk Church in Madison, Wisconsin.
Eli was a tissue donor through Gift of Hope. His smile, positive attitude, and servant's heart for Christ are the trademarks that he leaves with us.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday July 14, 2018 in the Calvary Baptist Church, 1140 Rush Ave., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311 with Pastor Jeff Willetts officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Eli to Athletes in Action, Eli Stickley Memorial Fund, 651Taylor Drive, Xenia, Ohio 45385. Checks can be made to Athletes in Action.
Services are entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana and condolences may be expressed to the family at www.vernonfh.com.

I met Eli in the fall of 2018 at a SAAC meeting at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We were at the same table waiting for the meeting to start. I had just started working at UW and wanted to meet our student-athletes. Our conversation was casual and easy flowing. What came from it was that I SAW Eli. A God-fearing man who wasn't afraid to shine His light and share the Good News. A man who loved his teammates and family very much. I would see Eli in the hallway and we would catch up quickly. Always with a smile, always willing to engage and always there if you needed him. I saw these things in how he interacted with other SAAC members and other student-athletes. He left an impression on everyone that he met. I am happy to be one of the chosen few. Thank you for sharing Eli with us. He made us better by knowing him. I hope that you can find peace in knowing that he is resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior and you will see Eli again one day.

No words could ever express all the sorrow felt from the loss of a Son, Brother, Nephew, Grandson, Cousin, Friend, Uncle, Boy Friend, Teammate and Brother in Christ. The one thing known for sure is God’s Promise that by our Faith in accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior we Will see him again. A true celebration of Life it will be when we are reunited with those we love and have missed so dearly. May Gods love embrace each of you and his peace surround you during this difficult time. Please know that you are never ever alone, Jesus is with you and he feels your sorrow, shares in your tears and he holds your hearts always. Our prayers and thoughts are with each of you. Blessings, Mike & Lora (John 3:16-17)

So sorry for your loss of your love one. We were blessed to meet Eli the summer of 2017 through our daughter Lisa when we hosted several kids from the Athletes In Action /UTC group at our home in Waterloo, IA. We were so impressed with Eli and what a wonderful, positive and polite young man he was. He woke up early and made breakfast for the whole group. Our family also had a chance to see Eli again in Madison the same summer when our daughter Lisa was staying with our son. He was such a kind and thoughtful young man and so easy to talk to. Our daughter said being around Eli always made her want to be a better person. His deep faith showed through in the way he led his life and his positive influence on others. Our family is keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to your family. I tutored Eli last semester at UW-Madison. His infectious smile and genuine personality won me over in a heartbeat. He always asked about my day at work and was curious to learn about the business world as he shared with me that he hoped to open his own business one day. My heart broke in a million pieces when I heard the news. People like Eli are rare these days -- so I am grateful to have crossed paths with him. May he rest easy when he sees the outpouring of love from those who have been touched by his life. Sending hugs, love, and prayers to your family during this time.

We send you prayers of comfort and peace during this time. Eli was my son, Jarrett's, counselor at camp many times. Jarrett said that Eli was always his favorite one, the nicest person. We are saddened by this news, and pray that you will find comfort during this heart breaking time.

On behalf of my family I would like to send our condolences with the loss of your son Eli. As the mother of a youth wrestler who lives & breathes this sport I can tell you that Eli was a true inspiration to youth wrestlers everywhere. We are from Wisconsin & my son knows all of the wrestlers & all the stats and we watched Eli many times as the college meets inspire the kids to want to be great. I can’t imagine how painful this has been for your family but I hope that you always remember the impact your son had on the kids. Thoughts and prayers to your family.
