October 31, 1988 - February 13, 2021
Eric Braden Williams, 32, also known to many as "Bacon", died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday February 13th, 2021. He was loved by many and left us much too soon.
Eric leaves behind his loving mother and stepfather, Kathryn M. (Cromwell) and Scott L. Oberly, his father and friend Charles A. Williams, and his beautiful fiancé, Paola Mariana Castillo. He is also survived by his sister Taryn (Scott) Brassard and their children Caleb and Sadie who loved their fun "Uncle Eric", his brother Wesley Oberly, brother Eric Oberly and son Lucas, his Grandparents John and Sharon Cromwell, and many close family and friends whom he cared for deeply.
Eric was born on October 31st, 1988 in Springfield, Ohio. He grew up in West Liberty, Ohio and graduated from West Liberty Salem High School in 2007. In 2012, he obtained his Finance Degree from Ohio University as well as gaining many extraordinary friendships. Working in Cincinnati for several years after college, Eric later moved to Chicago to further pursue his career, and while doing so, met the love of his life, Paola Mariana Castillo. Eric and Paola shared an adventurous city life in the South Loop of Chicago with their handsome Bernice Mountain dog, Nico. They made many sweet memories traveling the world together including Paris, Mexico, and all over the states. Eric and Paola were in the process of planning their wedding, aka the "Event of the Century", and forever future as husband and wife.
Eric was an Energy Efficiency Outreach Professional at DNV-GL in Chicago, where he assisted contractors and customers in becoming more energy efficient. He loved his job and was highly valued by his team and was a leader among his colleagues. He was a Certified Energy Manager and was currently pursuing his MBA at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.
Eric loved fishing and was an avid and passionate sportsman of every kind, but particularly partial to the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He knew all there was to know regarding sports - past, present, and predicting the future. You always knew where to find him on the weekend during football season - either at a game or in front of the TV passionately expressing his opinions.
