Erna A. Vaughan, 98, of Mingo, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on October 15, 2016.
Born October 17, 1917 in Gelsnkirchen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Wilhelm and Marie (Naschinski) Augustine.
On August 1, 1936, she married Louis Earl Vaughan, Sr., who preceded her in death on September 27, 1998. She was a homemaker, loved her “grandkids,” and loved to sew. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Friends Church in Cable.
Survivors include, Louis Earl Vaughan Jr. of Havelock, North Carolina; Linda Marie (Bob) Richardson of Greenwood, Indiana; Janet Marlene (Mike) Rucker of Cable, Ohio; grandchildren, Terry Eckel (Michelle) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Tammy Gorman (Jamey) of Canton, Ohio; Stacy (John) Millice of Cable, Ohio; Mark Rucker of Cable, Ohio; Larry Vaughan, Louis E. Vaughan III, Danny Vaughan and Veronica Vaughan. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Audra and Ashtyn Millice, Jacki (Eric) Whitaker, Jake Bramkamp, Dodge Gorman, Chelsey Eckel, and great-great grandchildren, Reid, Ben and Claire Whitaker.
She was preceded in death her parents; her husband, Louis Earl Vaughan; and brothers Emil Augustine, Sr., Heinrich Augustine, Gustav Augustine and Ernest Albert Augustine; and sisters, Adina Laubner, Johanna, Alfreida, Amelia, Marie Martha, Louise Griffin, Lydia Campbell and Ester Smith; daughter-in-law, Alice Faye Vaughan; and granddaughter, Susan Marie Vaughan.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the Mt. Carmel Friends Church, Cable, with Pastor Jereme Proudman presiding. The family will receive friends from 10-12 Noon prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to FRESHWATER, McDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg.
