Ruth (Weaver) Case, 87, a lifelong resident of the North Lewisburg area, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 19, 2009. She was a patient at Memorial Hospital of Union County Marysville and was surrounded by her loving family members at the time of her death.
She was born April 26, 1921 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the daughter of Lloyd and Minnie (Ruckle) Weaver.
Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and will live with them in spirit for eternity. She always had a smile for everyone she came in contact with. Though her body was frail, her mind remained sharp until her death.
Saddened by her loss, she leaves behind her five children her son, Gary (Joyce) Case of North Lewisburg, her daughters, Ruth Ann Thomas of Cable, Janet (Don) Jones of Cable, Linda (Charles) Heck of East Liberty & Peggy Rhodes of Viera, FL; 9 grandchildren, Jacqueline Watson, Jeffrey Heck, Angela Johnston, Kelly Eggleston, Troy Thomas, Randy Stillings, Terri Bateson, Joseph Knife and Tifani Reed, 17 great grandchildren, her sister, Gladys Castle of North Lewisburg and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick Case; her sisters, Hazel Welch, Edith First & Mary Lou Bushong; her brothers, Charles Weaver, Harold Weaver and Earl Weaver as well as her son-in-laws, Jack Thomas and Tom Rhodes.
The family would like to thank the attending nurses and doctors at Memorial Hospital of Union County and to Spring Meadow Care Center for the excellent care provided to our Mother. We would also like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to family and friends for their thoughts and prayers. A special thanks to Pastor Joyce McKeever and members of the Cable United Methodist Church for their support and prayers during our mother’s illness.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2009 in FRESHWATER, MCDONAL & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg where the funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Joyce McKeever officiating.
Following her wishes her body will be cremated and the cremated remains will be buried at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009 in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to Cable United Methodist Church or to the donor’s favorite charity.
