Evelyn ”Marlene” Cotrell Jones, 79, of Mechanicsburg passed away on September 6, 2012 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. As always, she fought a good fight.

She was born on June 10, 1933 in Tremont City to James and Ethel (Wade) Cotrell.

Marlene worked at Grimes Manufacturing, cleaned houses and most recently worked as a hostess for her son at Catfish Jones, a job she enjoyed greatly. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She loved to attend sporting school events of her grandchildren and watching them grow up. She was proud of them all. Marlene also loved talking and sitting on the porch with her two special friends, Linda and Pat, as well as her other neighbors and Pleasantview. Her ”crusty” ways, her laughter, her love and her presence will be greatly missed by all of us who love her.

She is survived by her children, Scott Jones, Shelley Musser and Chuck (Eileen) Jones; grandchildren, Amber Lee, Nathan (Jessi) Musser, Dylan Jones, Kylie (Justin) Mosshart, Lori King and Terrin Musser; great grandchildren, Ezra Lee, Ian Barrett, Elijah Barrett, Cali Jones, Zion Adams and ‘new’ great grandchildren, Grace Troyer and Noah Sizemore; sister, Helen Marie Cotrell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She adored them all, however they came into her family.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Veryl, Wallace, Herschel and Fred; sisters, Mildred, Ruth and Donna. Waiting to hug his grandma is her grandson, Ian Findlay Lee, who died in infancy.

A memorial gathering will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 in the Goshen Memorial Park Building in Mechanicsburg. Services have been entrusted to SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.vernonfh.com.
