Ferris Ivan Carter, 91, of Springfield passed away Monday, November 4, 2013.
He was born December 1, 1921 in Northup, OH the son of John and Mae (Albright) Carter.
Ferris served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He married the former E. Louise Troutwine on March 2, 1946. Ferris was a true craftsman who loved creating and building most anything. He had passion for rug making and woodworking.
He is survived by his daughters, Candace L. Windom of Springfield, Marsha L. (Kurt) Schmidt of Anna, Susan K. McNier of South Charleston and Tina P. (Brian) Vance of Mechanicsburg; as well as 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Ferris is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, E. Louise Carter; sisters, Barbara (Larry) Webb, Leona (Pete) Galinis and Virginia (Bob) Troutwine; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Mary Troutwine.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Jack Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park, Springfield.

Ivan was my favorite uncle, he will be missed.
