Isabel (Swisher) Smith, 95 of Urbana, passed away, Tuesday, April 15, 2013 in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana.
She was born July 3, 1917 in Cable, Ohio the daughter of Wilson Albert “Stub” and Eliza Jane (Williams) Swisher. Isabel graduated from Urbana High School.
She married John H. Smith on Sept 2, 1939 and he preceded her in October of 1999. Isabel enjoyed music, reading, studying the Bible and was a Jehovah’s Witness
She is survived by her daughter, Judith (Paul) Bailey of Mechanicsburg; her grandchildren, Jeremy C. (Lori) Smith, Jamie (Dustin) Vanlar, Amy Hurst, Paula (Jack) Griffith, James D. (Jody) Bailey, John B. (Patricia) Bailey, Andrea (Harlan) Laing and Julia Ripley, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John H. Smith, son, John E. Smith; 4 infant brothers and sisters; brother, John and Paul Swisher; sister Mary Story; her grandson Robert Jason Bailey and grandson-in-law Dennis Hurst.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013 in VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 in the funeral home with Elder Bob Graham. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

Judy and family, so sorry for your loss. I loved Great Aunt Bell very much. Remember Uncle John and her coming to visit us different times. Was always a treat! They are together now and with GOD!! Love to all, Gwen and Tim
