Francis Eugene “Gene” Marsh, 75, a lifelong resident of Mechanicsburg, passed away, Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in his home with his family by his side.
Gene was born April 9, 1936 the son of Francis E. and Blanche L. (Halterman) Marsh. He was a 1954 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. He was employed 1st at Westinghouse in Columbus and then in 1965 he went to work at International Harvester where he retired after years.
He was a member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church, a past member and strong supporter of the Mechanicsburg Athletic Boosters, a previous member of the IOOF Home in Springfield and a member of the Mechanicsburg Lions Club.


Gene enjoyed family picnics, trips to Lake Erie and his rose garden & goldfish pond.


He never met a stranger and loved talking with family and friends and was proud of his children and grandchildren’s activities.


Gene is survived by his daughter, Hope Elizabeth (Jack) Stout of Mechanicsburg; his son, Gregg Eugene (Cyn) Marsh of Cable; his grandchildren, Abigail Adele Marsh, Todd Christopher Marsh, Gabriel Neil Stout & Megan Marsh Stout; his brother, Richard (Sandra) Marsh of Mechanicsburg; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Becky” Ball of Mechanicsburg; 9 nieces & nephews, numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.


He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Belinda Sue (Gregg) Marsh whom he shared 54 wonderful years; his brother-in-law, Ronald Gene Ball I and his nephew, Ronald Gene Ball II.


A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD AND VERNON FUNERAL HOME Mechanicsburg.
Funeral service to Celebrate Gene’s Life, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2011 in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Harley Roston officiating.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Mechanicsburg, Ohio.


Serving as pall bearers; Scott Marsh, Luke Marsh, Matt Marsh, Todd Marsh, Donnie Paulson, Gabe Stout, Devon Lippincott & Rod Ball. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church, 42 N. Main St., Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044 or to
