Fred E. Geer, 78 of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 in his residence.

Fred was born August 18, 1942 in Urbana, Ohio the son of the late Fred F. Geer and Margaret (McCaulla) Kline. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. Fred was a small business owner for more than 50 years. He owned and operated several service stations; Fred's Gulf, Marathon, and Shell. Fred was also the owner of a used car lot, RG& F Auto Sales. He was an avid car collector, a racing enthusiast and a life-long mechanic.

Fred is survived by his wife, Jo Layne (Roush) Geer; children, Richard (Tonya) Geer, Kim Geer, Pamela (Dwayne) Siekman and Trevin Andrew Geer; sisters, Sandra (Charles) Craig, Kathy Walsh and Darenda Geer as well as 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Fred's home health care nurse, Melissa Alexander "Spike" Hatcher, for the special care shown to him over the past years.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11-1 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Livingston officiating.

Burial will follow in OakDale Cemetery, Urbana. Military honors will be provided by Pearce Kerns A.L. Post #120. Serving as pall bearers, Dwayne Siekman, Trevin Geer, Andrew O'Brien, John Tapp, Timothy J. Roush, Gary Reser and Richard Geer with David McConnell serving as honorary pall bearer.

To Fred's family, Fred was a fun loving fellow that I met while living next door to Richie Hitt and Fred was his roommate for awhile on Scioto Street.
