Frederick V. Organ, 84, of Urbana passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 26, 1931 in Union County, the son of the late Alfred V. and Hazel F. (Martin)Organ.
Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a lifelong farmer and his horses were his passion. He also was a truck driver for Liquid Carbonic and Manfriedi in Dayton. He was a member of the Westville United Methodist Church, High Point See Saws Square Dancing, Farm Bureau, the Knights of Pythians – Magrew Lodge and he enjoyed listening to country music.
He is survived by his loving wife, whom he married October 24, 1953, Marilyn R. (Parker) Organ; his daughter, Elizabeth A. Carter; his sons, Frederick W. (Terri) Organ and John M. (Kim) Organ, all who still live locally; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Eby, Paul Organ and Bryan (Karadie) Organ; his great grandchildren, Maci Runkle, Avery Organ, and Alisa Organ; his sisters, Elenor Black, Maxine Murphy, Virginia (Phillip) Black, Charlene Page, Marilyn Daniels, and Lois (Bill) Wells; his sister-in-law, Patricia (Walter) Engleman; and his several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, James Organ; his sister, Margaret Parker; and his brothers-in-law, Paul Page, Charles Murphy, and Richard (Margaret) Parker.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4-7 PM on Monday, June 20, 2016, in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
