Georgena S. “Jean” Tenney, 91, of North Lewisburg, left this world to reunite with her Heavenly Father on Friday, July 1, 2016 in Cherry Arbors, North Lewisburg.
She was born February 18, 1925 in Blaine, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Arthone & Fay (Moore) Seagraves.
Georgena worked at the Westinghouse, Columbus before retirement. She enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and watching birds outside of the living room window of her apartment at Cherry Arbors. As our hearts ache for the physical loss of her, we find solace knowing that she is now with God. She is at peace. And for that, we are grateful.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Otto) Farley of North Lewisburg and Sandy Holcomb of Columbus; her grandchildren, Charles Craig (fiance Heidi Rhoades) of Zanesville, Ronnie (Angie) Craig of Spencer, W.V., Christy Old; her great grandchildren, Austin Samuel Lee Craig, Cameron and Mason Craig, and Miss Lacey due in September, all of Spencer, W.V., Foster and Remy of Columbus, Katie & Tracy McIntire; and 5 great grandchildren; her great great grandson; her sister, Imajean (Harry) Baughman of Hilliard; her 13 nieces and nephews; her former spouse, Lee; and her dog, Spanky.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lynda Lue Bell; her grandson, Brian Jolliff; her great grandson, Kyle McCaferty; her siblings, Delamer Seagraves, Leila Charles and Noretta Ellison; and several others.
A funeral service to celebrate Georgena’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 8, 2016 in the FRESHWATER, McDONALD, & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg with Pastor Derek L. Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
The family would like to thank several caregivers from Ohio High Point – Karen, Tricia, Margaret, and Chelsea; her loving friends, Linda Legg and Chrissy Tomlin; a very special and loving friend and daughter, Sister Mary Smith, who was a Godsend for us. Also, a special thanks to Grace Hospice for their wonderful, loving care at the end of Mom’s life, as well as Jone and all of her friends and family at Cherry Arbors.
