Gladys Ann ”Annie” Anderson, 78, of Mechanicsburg passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 in her home surrounded by her family.


She was born November 14, 1933 in Springfield, OH the daughter of Eldon and Gladys (Jones) Wardell.


Annie was a member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church where she served as nursery superintendent for almost 20 years. She belonged to the Mechanicsburg Fire Department Ladies Auxillary and 2 card clubs.


She is survived by her children, Marsha (Kenny) Geboy, Tawnya Comer, Steven (Kathie) Anderson, Charles (Andy) Anderson II and Paul Anderson; grandchildren, Chris Sirignano, Bud (Michelle) Comer, Jennifer (Aaron) Leeper, Denise (C.R.) Weaver, Heidi Anderson, Stephanie (Joey) Anderson, Stacey (Shawn) Logwood, Sara (Jeff) Pullins, Kirsten Anderson and Kyle Anderson; 13 great grandchildren; her brother, Tom Wardell; nieces, Michaela Schenk and Alexandra Ritter; nephew, Thomas Wardell; best friends, Mary Catherine Tullis and Joyce Moore; as well as special friends, Michelle, Annaha and Abagaile Coles.


Annie is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Anderson.


A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Harley Roston officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
