Faye Cordell 78 formerly of Urbana, passed away Monday, October 20, 2008 in Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty.
She was born February 22, 1930 in South Webster, Ohio, the daughter of Guy and Ethel (Henning) Canter.
Faye attended the Urbana Freewill Baptist Church and the Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church. She adored her family.
Her survivors include, her sons, Grant “Kenny” (Ellen) Cordell of Urbana, Woodrow L. (Pat) Cordell of Urbana, Bernard (Jean) Cordell of Cable and John (Connie) Cordell of Mechanicsburg, her daughters, Catherine (Bruce) Downing of Ludlow Falls and Miriam (Jerry) Fields of Urbana; her grandchildren, Malinda, Ross, Heath, Chad, Cherie, Amanda, Andrew, Benjamin, Dustin, Brandon, Amy, Jennifer, Aaron & Autumn Renee, several great grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Canter of Dayton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends of several generations.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert Cordell, who she shared 52 years, her sister, Irene Salyers and her 3 brothers, including, Charles & Dale.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008 in the Skillman, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home Mechanicsburg. A funeral service to Celebrate Faye’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastors Grant Cordell and Richard Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Mechanicsburg. The Cordell family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation for the special care and family like atmosphere given to their mother by the staff of the Green Hills Care Center.
