Harry Lucian Lippincott II 69, of Urbana, passed away, Friday, March 16, 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born October 28, 1942 in Springfield, the son of Gladys (Robinson) and Harry Lucian Lippincott I.
Harry was a 1960 graduate from Urbana High School and attended Miami University and Wright State University. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and served as a Naval Reservist. He was a Process Engineer for 33 1/2 years and retired from Navistar in 1998. As a long-time resident of Mechanicsburg, he was a past member of the Mechanicsburg Lions Club, the I.O.O.F., and served on the Mechanicsburg Village Council for 9 years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, boat enthusiast and an OSU Fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Louise (David) Lough of Mechanicsburg; son, Devan Allan (Karon) Lippincott of Sagamore Hills, and his grandchildren Tommy Lippincott and Kendra Lippincott and , Tylor Lough, Alli Lough and Taylor Bond; also, his cousin, Becky Ball.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his cousins, Sue and Gene Marsh and Ron Ball.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, Ohio. A memorial service to celebrate Harry’s Life will follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Caring Kitchen, 300 Miami St., Urbana, Ohio 43078 or to the Mechanicsburg Lions Club, Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044.
