Herbert Miles Loudenback, 85 a long time Urbana resident, passed away, Monday, June 20, 2011 at his residence in Springfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Christena (Nitchman) Loudenback; his sisters, Margaret and Wiant Prichard, Jeanne Loudenback and his brother-in-law, Robert Rowland.
Herbert is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mida (Bush) Loudenback, his daughters, Karen Wyatt and Tena Wentz; his grandchildren, Sarah (John) Ramsey, John Wyatt and Christena Wentz, great grandchildren, Judah and Mira Ramsey; his nieces & nephew, Renee Rowland, Cindy (Michael) Rhoades and Lawrence Prichard and his sister-in-law, Pauline Rowland.
Herbert was born June 12, 1926 in Rosewood, Ohio. He graduated from Urbana High School and Eastern Kentucky University. He served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII. His mission assignment was a lower ball gunner on the B-17 airplanes. Herbert retired from Dayton Reliable Tool Company.
He was a member of the Urbana United Methodist Church, Harmony Lodge # 8 F. & A. M., Antioch Shrine, Eastern Star # 530, Past Commander of the American Legion Pearce-Kerns Post # 120 and the Urbana Country Club.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio
Masonic services will be held at 10:30 a.m. with the Memorial service to follow. Pastor Clifford Kissinger will officiate. American Legion Pearce-Kerns Post # 120 will provide military honors.
