Homer V. Hickman, 74, of Springfield, passed away, Friday, March 7, 2008 in St. John’s Hospice Center, Springfield.
Homer was born April 4, 1933 in Woodstock, the son of the late Robert O. Sr. and June (Bayes) Hickman.
Homer retired after over 45 years with the William Bailey Company as a welder. He was a member of the Union Club in Springfield where he enjoyed playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, who he married, June 12 1954, Geneva (Wheeler) Hickman, his brothers, Glenn (Dorothy) Hickman of Hilliard, Herman (Marguerite) Hickman of W. Liberty, Robert O. (Jessie) Hickman Jr. of Peabody, Mass. & Charles Fout of London; his sister, Ida (Shorty) Penny of Laura, OH; numerous nieces & nephews of several generations.
Homer is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Anthony, Harry, Dorothy, Gladys & Goldie.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicsburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 in the funeral home with the Pastor Jay Burchwell. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Mutual. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Hospice Center.
