Ida May Salyers, 81, of Mechanicsburg, passed away February 21, 2013 in Winter Haven Hospital, Florida.
She was born April 19, 1931 in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, the daughter of George and Esta (Northup) Judy, Sr.
Ida was a 1949 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. She was a former member of the Good Sam Club and was a member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church, where she served as secretary for 12 years. Ida and her husband, Charlie, enjoyed spending the winter months living in Florida. She also loved flowers, playing cards, camping, fishing, baking cookies, cooking, painting, teaching, doing crafts and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charles Salyers; daughters, Cynthia (William) Perks of Springfield, Judy Cunningham of Mechanicsburg, Susie (Tank) Nichols of Urbana and Polly (Greg) Hawk of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Christine Sabin, Billy Perks, Cecil Perks, Jordan Swank, Kayla Amrine, Charli Hawk, Megan Nichols and Morgan Nichols; 9 great grandchildren; brother, George (Joyce) Judy, Jr.; sister, Mary Ruth White; special friend, Jean Beigel; as well as numerous nieces nephews and friends.
Ida is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Donna Hoffer.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg with Rev. Dr. Harley Roston and Jim Leach officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5-7 p.m.
