Imogene (Young) Nance, 85, of Woodstock passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011 in Memorial Hospital of Union County, Marysville.
She was born June 6, 1925 in Louisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky, the daughter of Samuel J. and Pansy Lee (Caldwell) Young.
Imogene was the only girl of five children. She loved working in her garden and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Nance; daughter, Connie (Ellis) Rittenhouse of Woodstock; sons, James R. Nance of Woodstock, Jerry (Naomi) Nance of West Liberty; brother, Samuel (Sybilla) Young Jr. of Salt Lake City, Utah and Paul Young of Woodstock; grandchildren, Wendy Nance, Andy (Kathy) Nance, Felicia (Ernie) Nicols, Maria (Eric) Woodworth, Erica (Wayne) Harris, Eric (Rebeka) Rittenhouse; 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Homer Young and Walter Young; great granddaughter, Jessica Nicols.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the church with Pastors Don Hix and Russell Street officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodstock Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Nance, Eric Woodworth, Eric Rittenhouse, Ellis Rittenhouse, Ace Williams, Rick Pack, Mike McCall and Dale Wheeler.
