Jack R. Johnson, 73 of Mechanicsburg, passed away, Friday, June 5, 2009 in the OSU Medical Center Columbus.
He was born July 2, 1935 in Cardington, Ohio the son of the late John G. & Ruth E. (Carney) Johnson.
Jack served his country in the United States Air force during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed with Cascade Corporation in Springfield. He was a member of the Eagles # 397 in Mechanicsburg. Jack enjoyed riding his motorcycle, Wood refinishing and collecting Antiques.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Angie (Mark) Anderson of Plainfield, IL & Debbie Johnson of Lehigh Acres, FL, his sons, Terry L. (Ruth) Johnson & Randy D. Johnson both of Mechanicsburg, his grandchildren, Nikki Mitchell, Lacy Johnson, Jason Anderson, Joy Anderson, Erin Anderson, Jaclyn Anderson, Eric McNeely, Josh McNeely & Jack McNeely, his great grandchildren, Logan, Sydney, Callie, Dylan, Lexi, Kayla & Lillyana, his brothers, Bill (Carol) Johnson, Dahl (Steph) Johnson, Joe Johnson & Steve (Kim) Johnson all of Springfield, his sisters, Peggy (Scott) Lamberth of San Carols, Mexico & Sue (John) O’Laughlin of Mechanicsburg, numerous nieces & nephews of several generations; as well as many close friends, including, Bill and Dolly Saxbe, Julie and Rocky Saxbe and John and Beth Martin and their children, Courtney and Jonathan.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 2 brothers and a nephew, Dahl Johnson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Salee officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Mechanicsburg.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be to the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, 257 W. Main St., Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044 to help offset funeral cost.
