James Harlow Chapman, 84, of North Lewisburg passed away Thursday September 15, 2011 in his residence with his wife by his side.
He was born May 14, 1927 in Broadway, Ohio and was the son of Charles Hiram and Mabel Ruth (Draper) Chapman.
Harlow is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Elaine (Spain) Chapman, his nieces; Cathy Rose of Spokane, WA., Gayle (Bill) Moore of N. Lewisburg, Wilma (Gary) Trees of Raymond, Diana (Tim) Maxhimer of Marysville, Polly Miller of Springfield, his nephews; Chris (Joanna) Chapman of Urbana, Don (Darlene) Hall of Urbana, Bill Miller of Marysville, and several great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Carroll Chapman.
Harlow was a graduate of North Lewisburg High School and was a Korean Veteran serving in the U. S. Army. He worked in the maintenance department at Westinghouse for many years, retiring in 1985. Harlow enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 7pm on Monday, September 19, 2011 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M. on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
